Group 1 Discussion

(left: Synagog in Dijon France)

Here are a few comments from my point about our first Discussion on Wednesday. First of all even thought everbody looked really tired I think it was a quite good discussion and especially always ongoing.
It was interesting to hear the point of everybody about the racial differences in France.
What I did not like was the one sidedness of this whole discussion and especially, as it seemed to me, the generalization of one point to the whole country.
Throughout pretty much the whole discussion it was only talked about how bad France is, how they "dislike" Muslims and more...
In my opinion it is not ALL people who are that way but more the other way around there are fewer people who dislike them then those who either have no position or are for them.
Here in Amerika you too have people who dislike other people because they come from another country or have another colour. Would you now say because of these that the whole US is thinking like that?? NO probably not...

Well I don't say at all that there are no people like that in FRance but those people are on the whole world. We have the *against different coloured people* people everywhere and still we don't say that the whole world is bad because of the many good people ;)

I'm looking forward to the next discussion and hope it will be more positive :)
I hope I haven't offended anyone, it is not meant bad or anything it is just my opinion about our first discussion ;)

Maurice
