Discussion Group 3

Well my group had in my opinion a really important Topic to let us (the class) get closer to draw our final conclusions. One important thing that I still have to mention, that I tried to talk about in class but well as many know it is hard to catch the word.
Anyway, an really important question that we have to ask ourself is, is it really only the government who makes the imigrants in France feel bad? Up until now we mainly have talked about how the government wants to make rules against the imigrants how some of the "orignial" French don't want them in their jobs. But on the other hand we realized that many of the "original" French don't really care that much about that anymore and get quite good along with the imigrants, we just made the mistake in the beginning to generalize.

My question now is, is it really all just the governments fault?
Well Katie mentioned in class a very important point about that. She told us the story about her friend who is an imigrant in france and how her FAMILY tells her over and over again that she won't be able to find a job in france even thought she is attending an excellent school. They tell her that she will have to go to another country later on to have a good life, since she won't get that there in France...
And she does believe that... So there comes my question in place. Is it only the government that makes it hard for the imigrants or is it the imigrants themself who make it hard for themself to live in france??
Shouldn't the imigrants themself work on their attitude towards their new homecountry befor they have high expectations from the government there? Isn't it that if you just keep complaining about something but not try to do much about it nothing really will change?

Those are in my opinion really important questions that we have to ask ourselfs befor we can go any further with our drawing of conclusions about the France.
